Ben Harvey’s writing is “no oil painting”.

If there was ever a demonstration that Western Australia needs a new voice in the arts (you understand I mean myself right?), it would be the bumbling embarrassment in today’s West Australian on arts funding.
Fortunately for you, the story is locked but the summary is that Ben Harvey, Chief Reporter – wearing what is known as a “Fathers’ Day tie” admits to knowing nothing about the arts, yet stumbles around for three quarters of a fucking page, (!) suggesting maybe, possibly Barking Gecko Theatre deserves to get funding. But “self inseminating” artist Casey Jenkins, doesn’t. Maybe. I’m sure Barking Gecko would have been horrified reading the piece this morning after thinking they were being interviewed for a serious story on arts funding. LOL.
